2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TreeTalk collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data in two contexts:
- When you visit and interact with the Website at https://tree-talk.com ("Website").
- When you install, activate, or use the TreeTalk Node software ("Software").
3. Data We Collect
3.1 Data You Actively Provide
When you contact us, request support, download products, or subscribe to communications, you may provide: name, email address, company name, phone number, country/region, and any message content you voluntarily submit. We collect only what you directly submit.
3.2 Automatically Collected Website Data
When you visit the Website, the following data is collected automatically for analytics and security: IP address (anonymized where required by EU law), browser type and version, device type, operating system, referral source, pages visited, actions taken, and date/time of access. This data is collected via Google Analytics / GA4, Google Tag Manager, and server logs.
3.3 Software Activation and Licensing Data
When you activate a paid license of TreeTalk Node, the Software transmits to TreeTalk's licensing infrastructure: the license key, a non-reversible hardware fingerprint derived from your PC's hardware characteristics, software version, and activation timestamp and country/region (derived from IP address). This data is used solely for license validation, activation, and fraud prevention. It is not used for advertising or profiling.
3.4 Software Diagnostic Data
The Software may transmit anonymized diagnostic information (error reports, version in use, feature usage aggregates) to help TreeTalk identify and fix software defects. This data does not include file content, message content, or personally identifiable information beyond the license key and software version. The Premium Offline Edition is designed to minimize or eliminate internet-based transmissions after initial activation.
3.5 Cookies
See the Cookie Policy at https://tree-talk.com/cookie-policy.
